About Us

Aquajets competitive club and swim school was established in April 2009 by Julia Murden.

The ethos of the club was a simple concept, Julia wanted to deliver a competitive coaching environment for children without the need to attend early morning training sessions before school. She believed very much in quality over quantity.

In short she believed that there was a need for a swimming club in the North East that valued education and balance in a child’s life. However, was prepared to work towards establishing a club where there was still the drive and ambition to develop every child to their full sporting potential, just within a framework of supportive parenting and coaching that understood every child is an individual. There were no preconceived ideas about training or learning, the club was to be open minded and there to support young people at all levels and in all water related sports.

The club holds true to that ethos today and is thriving.

Parents swimmers and coaches come together to provide a positive learning environment all the way from learn to swim to national level competition.

Swimming can not only prove to be a vital life saving skill essential for all youngsters, it can also be important for confidence building, listening skills, team building, having fun and friendships.

Today the club has grown to some considerable size and without a large parent volunteer base would be unable to meet the needs of all its members. Therefore we are forever grateful to all of those parents who work tirelessly behind the scenes and to those who hold positions of responsibility with in the club.
