City of Leicester Swimming Club is the
chosen performance pathway for Leicestershire,
providing some 120 places
for swimmers ranging from the age of nine through to
their late teens. It is a 'stepping stone' in
Swim England's talent pathway programme between base clubs and
senior competition.
The Club was formed in 1978, with the
amalgamation of several existing satellite clubs. Whilst it has
undergone many changes over the years, the objectives remain the
same: to provide professional coaching and training
opportunities to nuture the talent of swimmers in
Leicestershire.
City of Leicester has remained at the
forefront of regional and national swimming and has had athletes
representing
the c
ounty, region
and country. There have been many highlights including
representation at junior and senior International level, British
National Champions and British record holders.
This club is committed to providing the
highest level of coaching and continues to identify talent
potential and achieve podium success today.
From initial talent identification each
individual swimmer has access to both pool and land
based training that allows for full long term athlete
development.
