Club – A club for everyone
Weymouth Swimming Club
was established in 1825 and has a 195 year long tradition of
swimming teaching which began in the waters of Weymouth Bay. It is
a friendly club with in some 300 members affiliated to the Dorset
County Amateur Swimming Association (DCASA), South West ASA [South
West Amateur Swimming Association] (SWASA), the Modern Pentathlon
Association of Great Britain (MPAGB) and the Amateur Swimming
Association (ASA).
The club caters for
beginners, improvers and competitive swimmers to County,
Regional and National qualifying levels. A range of swimming
related activities are undertaken including teaching
and synchronised swimming and an active master’s
section.
The club is based at the
Everyone Active pool at Knightsdale Road in Weymouth with the
main club sessions are on a Monday and a Friday between 6.30 pm and
9.30 pm.
Training is available four nights a week with galas held,
usually, on Saturdays both home and away. The club participates in
the Novice League, Southern Junior League and National Arena League
South West.
