Coaching Staff

Kamilla Kozlowska

Head Coach

Kamilla has been involved with competitive swimming since a very early age. Her mother swam for Poland and then became head coach of a successful club where Kamilla learnt how to swim. As a competitive swimmer Kamilla represented her club at regional and national level and then swam with her University.

Having graduated from the Academy of Physical Education in Wroclaw , Poland with a masters degree in Sports Science and Physical Education, Kamilla moved to England in 1996 and started teaching swimming. Shortly after she became involved in competitive swimming as a coach at a small local club in Tooting.

In 2008 Kamilla joined WSC as a County lead coach and assistant head coach and four years and one child later was appointed head coach. While holding this role WSC has continued its success with swimmers reaching finals and winning medals at County, Regional, National and British Championships.

Magda Klosowska

Coach - Comp Dev

Magda has been involved in swimming for most of her life. She joined her local club in her native Poland at the age of eight and progressed all the way through to National level.

For the last six years she has been working as a swimming instructor and coach for various swimming schools and clubs around London. She joined WSC in January 2012 and currently she is head of County and Dolphins squads but also helps with the training for Regional and National swimmers as well as supporting Cindy with the Seals.

Cindy Hanegraaf

Coach - Pre dev and dev 1

Cindy is an ASA Level 2 aquatics instructor specialising in preparing young swimmers for competition.

She currently coaches the Penguin and Seal squads, organises and teaches stroke clinics and coordinates mini-galas for the development level swimmers.
Cindy has been associated with Wandsworth Swimming Club as a parent of a swimmer since 2002 and has been teaching with the club since 2005. Cindy swam competitively at high school level in the US and taught swimming there during her university years. Cindy has worked for many years as a graphic designer.  After moving to the UK in 1991 she renewed her swimming teaching qualifications. She teaches private swimming lessons at all levels and coaches pre-competition swimmers.

Timothy D Robinson

Coach - Dev 2

Tim is joining us as a coach for the Development 2 squad for the 2017/2018 season, having been a member of the Club since the age of 4.

Still an active swimmer in the club, his days of serious competitive swimming are over but he has a wealth of knowledge to bring to the young swimmers.

Tim’s achievements in swimming are many. Notably, he was top boy in the  Bagcats at Surrey Counties for 3 consecutive years, on one occasion achieving 13 golds. In addition, he won top boy at London Regionals several times. He represented London at International Open Meets (Geneva and Barcelona) and was selected over many years for the ‘England Talent’ group.

One of Tim's greatest achievements was coming third at the British open water nationals in 2013. He also competed at the 2012 Olympic trials for 1500m freestyle. Having recently finished a Sport and Exercise Science degree at the University of Bath, he hopes to put his knowledge into practice by helping all of the swimmers in the club, from pre-development to national level in areas such as nutrition, injuries and performance.

Kate Thurlow

Kate has been with Wandsworth Swimming Club since 2001, when she was a swimmer with the national squad,  specialising in IM and breaststroke until 2005 when she had to stop swimming competitively due to illness.

She obtained her Level 1 swimming teaching qualification in 2007 and started helping Cindy with the development squads before going to Newcastle University to study biomedical sciences. She has always kept in touch with the swimming world through teaching both in London and Newcastle as well as officiating, with a J2(S) qualification. She is currently working towards applying for a Phd in the field of dementia research with Kings College, London,  whilst working at WSC mainly with the Penguin Squad.
