I have been involved in
sports throughout my life. I have started as a swimmer and moved on
to athletics at the age of 11. During my university years I took on
another challenge: Triathlon.
As I am from Hungary I have completed at national level all of
these sports in Hungary.
My qualifications are university degree in Biology and Physical
Education (ELTE Budapest 1998); Hungarian Level 2 Coaching Swimming
(1998); Hungarian Level 2 Athletics Coach (1997); ASA/UKCC Level 2
Coaching Swimming (2004). I have been teaching and coaching
swimming over 18 years.

Assistant Head Coach
I joined Chalfont Otters in September 2017 and since then I have
been working regularly with the OB, SD and JD squads. I have been a
Level 2 Swimming Teacher for 9 years and my experience as a teacher
gives me the confidence and knowledge to improve swimmers in the
developmental stage of learning. I wanted to get back into the
competitive world of swimming after being out of the sport for 6
I swam at county, regional, national and international level.
My greatest personal achievements would have to be winning a silver
and bronze medal for England in Thessaloniki, Greece in 2009 in the
100m and 200m Backstroke. I won 5 national medals and competed in
the Olympic Trials in 2008, where I narrowly missed GB Junior Team
selection on the 200m Backstroke by 0.06 sec. I have swum
internationally in countries such as Holland, Switzerland, Germany,
Spain and Greece.
My experience as a swimmer has shaped my future career; I now have
a Bachelor of Science in Sport Sciences, Master of
Science in Sport Psychology and I am currently working
towards a PhD in Sport Psychology.
I look forward to gaining my coaching qualifications and
becoming more involved with the club as a whole.

Heidi A LOVELAND
I have been involved in
swimming and numerous other sports up to county level all my life.
I joined Otters when I was probably about nine years old and am
currently swimming for the club as a Masters swimmer.
I first started coaching and
leading sports when I was at school. I won various
sports coaching awards, was
picked to lead the youth team at a Youth Sports Trust Conference,
elected Sports Ambassador to represent my School and in
swimming was selected to go to a Young Coaches Talent Camp run by the Youth Sports
I started coaching for Otters in 2011, when I finished
my A-levels, and have been coaching ever since.
Whilst I was at Warwick University I rowed (and swam if
I capsized) but still continued to coach Otters in my holidays.
I am now a full time secondary school teacher in the day however I
still love coaching Otters in my
spare time and am lucky enough to be the Lead Coach for Otters Squad and coach some of our club squads too. I also
organise the swimming team at the school I work
Whilst I want every swimmer to succeed and do their
absolute best, my main goal is that every swimmer who joins Otters
loves to swim and enjoys it. I try my best to make sessions
creative and fun for all
whilst not forgetting that we want to be striving
PBs which takes hard work!
favourite quote (which one of my swimming coaches said to me) is to think: ‘I
SHALL, I WILL , I CAN’ and that helps me to keep going and
try my best. If your reading this because you are thinking of
joining the club as a swimmer, coach,
poolside helper or even doing your
DofE award - do it - give it a go!!
