I am an ASA qualified coach who has been involved with swimming for over 40 years as a swimmer, teacher and coach.
Prior to becoming head coach at Exeter City Swimming Club I worked for the ASA as a Talent Development Officer organising and running training camps, coach education, mentoring coaches, assessing swimmers and coaches and working with clubs. Initially I was working in the North East and North West and then moved to cover the South West and West Midlands and had the pleasure of working with and learning from many talented coaches and swimmers.
I have worked as a coach at Stockport Metro, Plymouth Leander, Kelly College, Newton Abbot, Taunton and Honiton. I started swimming at Taunton Swimming Club (now Taunton Deane) learn to swim programme in 1970 and then moved into their competitive squad. I then represented Honiton Swimming Club as a master where my highest achievements were a silver and bronze medal at the World Masters Championships in Portland, Oregon.
