Invitation to

Sunday 22nd  April 2018

1610 Sports Centre, Dorchester

Closing date for entries - Sunday 11th March

Dear all,

Attached are the invites for those swimmers who meet the entry conditions to take part in this year’s Graded Meet.

As some swimmers have only competed at our club competitions, I have added the notes below which may answer some questions you may have.

If you are submitting an entry, can we also ask you to think about volunteering at this meet?  All clubs participating in this event are required to help in the running of the competition. Please indicate on the invite if you would be willing to help.

What is Graded Meet and who can take part?

The competition is a licenced meet held by Dorset ASA and is open to all swimmers in Dorset who meet the entry requirements.

The meet takes place over one day and is broken down into 3 sessions. A timetable, showing what event is in each session, is attached.

It is for swimmers aged between 9 – 12 years (age at 31 December). Those aged 9 on 31st December must be 9 on or before the day of the competition.

Upper cut off times are used. This means that any time held by the swimmer must not be faster than this time and it must have been set in a competition within a specified date range. ‘Competition’ includes club performance galas, novice league, junior league etc along with open meets such as our December meet.

The full meet pack detailing all of the conditions for entry can be found here.

How to get more information about this or other meets?

Our head coach, Colin, will be holding an information session before the closing date for entries. This will be open to anyone who would like to know more or have any questions.

The session is expected to last around 30 minutes and will cover lots of aspects about meets.

More details to follow.

How to enter

To submit your child’s entry, please complete the invite for which events they wish to take part in and cross through those that are not being entered. Please add in their ASA number (if known).

Hand the completed invite with payment to the WDSC desk no later than SUNDAY 11th MARCH. No late entries will be accepted.

For swimmers with a Functional Ability Card or Certificate of Swimming Disability: Please include a copy of the Functional Ability computer printout or certificate so that I can enter your swimmer correctly.

And finally - good luck!
