Good luck to the 15 Caradon swimmers who head to the Carn Brea and Helston Sprint Meet being held at Penzance on Saturday 10th March  2018. We are looking forward to a successful day of sprinting. Jason and Philip will be coaching poolside and the Caradon Team Managers are Clive Shute and Claire Rickards.

Please ensure all swimmers:-

  • Arrive promptly for session 1 and to be ready for poolside briefings from Jason/Philip. Swimmers should be in full club kit for arrival.
  • Bring a number of towels in order to stay dry between warm up and races.
  • Bring suitable clothing to keep warm in between races, the warmer their muscles are before racing the better they will function.
  • Race in a 'new' Caradon swimming hat.
  • Have suitable quantites of fluids and food with them for the day, as remaining hydrated is important.
  • Items are named, or initialled, in order that items can be returned to their rightful owners in the event of things being misplaced.
  • Please note that swimmers will be released by Jason or a member of the coaching team or a Team Manager and are then free to leave on completion of their final event on the day of the competition.

We look forward to a great day of racing with all the swimmers.   <Ê<û

Dear All,
I am pleased to announce that we will be supporting the Carn Brea and Helston Open Sprint Meet on the 10th March. The event will be held at Penzance pool. I would like to offer this to all swimmers in Fast Track, Performance and Masters. Apologies to the juniors but, for now, I would rather you focused on long distance races rather than sprinting.
This meet is open to any swimmer who has not achieved a National time, or been invited to compete at the 2017 British Championships, British Summer Championships, ASA Summer Meet, ASA Winter Meet or at any higher level meet in any event, and so there are no qualifying times for this gala.
For Fast Track - this meet offers the opportunity to apply the skills and technique you will focus on over the next 4-6 weeks, reinforcing good habits.
For Performance - this offers the opportunity to develop your race skills.
We have swimmers in both squads who are targeting regional times in the sprint events, this is another opportunity to achieve them.
For our Masters - this is your opportunity to show the youngsters how to do it! It also gives you an opportunity to achieve any necessary qualifying times for the British Masters Championships (which will be held in Plymouth in June).
Above all, this is an opportunity to bring all of the all squads together for a fun day of racing, an opportunity I am looking forward too!
To enter this meet you must race all sprint events: 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly plus the 100m IM.
There is also a SKINS race and the option of an 8 x 50 Club Cannon.
Should you have any queries regarding this, please do not hesitate to ask me.
Many thanks
Jason Quiterio
Head Coach of Caradon Swimming
