Swim Wales Summer Open 2018
Wales National Pool, Swansea
The Swim Wales Summer Open is part of the Home Nation and British Swimming Summer Nationals. Wales invite the top 16 and top 8 (400IM, 800m and 1500m) welsh swimmers to compete at the Wales National Pool Swansea.
After the invited entries, Wales release the remaining lanes for open entry. These are limited spaces in selected events and allocated on a first come first served basis, and not fastest to slowest. The open entry accepts swimmers from Wales, Scotland and England. Swimmers must have achieved the published qualifying time between July 30th 2017 and the close of entries. Swimmers can qualify on long course or short course times.
Swimmers are not permitted to compete the same event at the British and their respective home nation competition and/or the Swim Wales Summer open i.e. if you qualify for an event at British or English Nationals in Sheffield, you cannot enter that same event in Swansea.
Entry for the meet is through an online entry system at and not through City of Bristol web site. Please see the documents below for details of the entry process. So that we are able to track who is attending and who is not, please would you let us know by using the attend/decline button on this page.
Lisa would like all swimmers in the designated squads who have not qualified for British or English nationals to try and enter at least some events in Swansea. She will be attending for the duration of the meet.
Entries for this meet fill up very quickly so please be ready to submit your entry on 11 June at 10am when the entry system opens. Whilst the official closing date is not until 22 June, we can guarantee that the meet will be full long before then.
