Please share this information with anyone you think would like to come? Especially old Shiverers Swimmers who trained under Ian the past and ask them to confirm attendance by emailing email@example.com .
LOGISTICS of the night
Message from Tracey Griffiths ( Alice and Rhys’s mum) who is organising the event.
The idea is that we all bring a dish to help cater the party, as there is no food at the venue. Fiona Stewart has kindly offered to help coordinate food organisation, so we don’t end up with 20 plates of sausage rolls!
we need the following : SANDWICHES, CRISPS, FRUIT PLATTERS, DIPS AND VEG PLATTERS, SAUSAGE ROLLS, COCKTAIL SAUSAGES, CUPCAKES AND SWEET TREATS, VOL AU VENTS, CHEESES AND CRACKERS QUICHES. ( all finger food, nothing that needs cutlery please)
DONATE TOWARDS A GIFT/HOLIDAY FUND FOR IAN
I have set up a JustGiving page for those that would like to donate something towards a gift or hopefully some cash towards a holiday that we can give to Ian on the night.
here's the link, please leave a personal message for Ian, and
I’ll print everything out to show him on the night.
Here's a few ideas so far for the evening
- Can the kids to bring a medal on the night, where they can write a personal note on a tag to attach to it, then we can pin them all onto a giant rosette, for Ian to take home. ( Karen Wooliscroft will bring some extra medals for those that don’t want to donate a prized medal). I’ll bring the labels to add the messages and make the big Rosette, If you're an older ex-shiverer, can you bring a medal or just a nice note to add to the rosette?
2. Anyone who can’t be there on the night, who is back at school, Uni etc - Joel, Harry, Frankie, Leah etc , can you record a little message on your phone and get it to Louis Stewart, so he can make a little video?
As I say i need as much help as poss. So lets make this a special night to remember.
Also for those asking, Karen was very keen that this event should be about Ian and did not want it to be a leaving party for her. She has said that she ‘isn’t really a party person’ and would prefer an event that involves swimming so she can see the kids, so if someone would like to come forward with an idea and to help organise something, please let me know? For those asking about a collection for a leaving gift for Karen, I’ve set up a funding page here:
