Master Class with Lizzie Simmonds
Dear Swimmers, Parents, Guardians and Carers,
I am delighted to invite you to a PBSC Master Class by Double Olympian Lizzie Simmonds that we are holding at the Furzefield Sports Centre on Sunday 10th February 2019. The cost of this will be £10 for swimmers in P1, P2 and the Masters Section and £8 for swimmers in J1 and J2 Squads. The additional cost to Performance and Masters Squad swimmers is because they will have an additional guest speaker.
Lizzie has recently retired from a 12 year sporting career representing Team GB and British Swimming. At the age of 14 Lizzie won 5 gold medals at the European Youth Olympic Games, and over the following two years stepped up to win 6 European Junior gold medals. She qualified for her first senior team at 15, and her first Olympic Games in 2008, aged 17, where she finished sixth in the 200m backstroke. Lizzie went on to be twice crowned senior European Champion, and has collected a number of medals at Commonwealth Games and World Championship competitions. As well as her debut in Beijing, Lizzie competed at the London Olympic Games in 2012, achieving a fourth place finish in the 200m backstroke. Lizzie is now an active member of the British Olympic Association Athlete Commission, bringing knowledge and expertise to Team GB athlete support programs and promoting athlete welfare across the high-performance system. She is passionate about using her experiences from elite sport to help young people develop and thrive, and she has many years experience running master classes and workshops with clubs and schools, both in the UK and internationally.

This led to an interest in "High Performance States" - the ability to perform at your best in extreme pressure situations. For the past 7 years he has been teaching surgeons, athletes and business leaders the secrets of "getting in the zone" to maximise their performance.
Dr Ghosh has a background in Medical Education, Coaching, Mentoring, Language and Behaviour Profiling and is a Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. Combining these techniques he is uniquely qualified to help our swimmers improve their motivation, set goals and maximise their potential by performing when it matters most. His techniques are just as transformational when applied to other areas of life, such as school work, exams and business.
