SER Open Water Success

Saturday 8th July saw CMK take some of its more adventurous distance swimmers to Chichester to compete in Swim England South East 2017 Open Water Championship, Age Group Finals.

This challenging event is an exciting addition to the usual pool competitions CMK attend and has two distances for the competitors- 3k and 1500m. All swimmers gave a great performance with Kaelah Lawson finishing 1st in her age group in the 3k. Kaelah now qualifies for the national open water finals later this month at Rother Valley, Sheffield. She was closely followed by Rhiannon Jeffreys in 5th who was competing in her first open water event, as was Will Barry who representing the boys, came in 11th.

Jayden Hill and Ellie McManus competed in the 1500 event and finished 6th and 7th respectively in their races. It was also Ellie’s first open water competition.
