Ken Deeley Results & Coach Report 2017

Coach Report Ken Deeley 9th September 2017

After a longer than planned summer break due to the Lancing refurbishment it was a brilliant start to season by Shiverers at the Ken Deeley gala winning the TOP CLUB trophy with 2681 points ahead of Atlantis 2nd 1834 and Brighton 3rd 1214! The trophy was handed to us well before the end of the gala when it was obvious we were going to be clear winners.

With 70 swimmers entered and nearly all achieving pb’s, even the problems the organisers were having with score board/timing etc which caused long delays didn’t dampen keeness poolside.

All the swimmers were a credit to the club and their supporters with many, many individual success stories including Frankie, Ellis, Rebecca, Elijah, Harry S and Sophie winning all their races. Frankie’s’ swims last Saturday rank her TOP in Britain for her age group for 50’s free, back, breast and 100IM.

Brothers Harry and Luke Stacey raced each other to very close finishes which made for even more excitement and for brothers Georgio and Matteo it was their first gala for Shiverers since joining the club a few months ago.

The following swimmers all collected one or more medals: Ellis, Eli, Frankie, Zac, Solomon, James, Rebecca, Elijah, Eoghan, Mackenzie, Leah, Sophie, Harry S, Aidan, Harry U, Nils, Rania, Hannah R, Louis S, Jack ,Amarys, Benji, Archie, Luke S, Rosa

Very well done to ALL swimmers who took part and especially to those who entered every event  and our new to competition swimmers who looked very professional despite their lack of experience.
