09 January 2018
As part of the constitution of the club we are required to hold an Annual General Meeting and generally this falls in December. This was held on 8th December 2017 but unfortunately the turnout was so low that we didn’t have enough people attend for it to go ahead.
The AGM is an opportunity for all of us to hear the annual reports from the various officers of the committee and our Head Coach. The previous years achievements, key activities and financial statements form the basis of the meeting along with the re-forming of the committee. The coming years aims and objectives are also outlined to give us our route forward for the coming 12 months along with an opportunity to raise any other business that may be relevant.
We have 272 members from 128 families in the club and all of us have one thing in common. Each of us wants the best for our swimmers and we all make various sacrifices and adjustments to our lives to allow them to train, compete and enjoy all that the club offers.
We have re-scheduled the AGM to be held at Northcroft on Sunday 21st January at 19.30. We are all busy people and finding a time that works for everyone is difficult but Sunday evenings gives us the greatest opportunity to allow each of us to attend. The meeting is open to everyone including our swimmers. On this occasion we will be laying on some light refreshments to make for a more appealing event.
New blood on the committee is always encouraged and vacancies do indeed exist but no one needs to worry that the meeting would be used to coerce you into roles that you don’t want. Being involved can be fun and rewarding so if this was something that would interest you then please feel free to talk to a committee member or your Squad Rep at anytime.
We hope that you can spare your club a small amount of time on the 21st and come along and hear what your club has been up to and what can be achieved in 2018.
