Continuing on the success the younger swimmers had at Enfield last weekend, the 14&Over swimmers from Brompton continued to raise the standards of the club this past weekend at the LAC in Stratford in the 2018 Middlesex Youth Championships.
Entering with our largest number of qualifiers, the swimmers performed very well hitting over 50% lifetime bests and placing more swimmers into Championship Finals than ever before including Arianna, Zoe, Sloane, Iris, Lily, Emily, Greg, Sophia, Abi, Alesha, Fleur, Brandon, Spencer, and Taylor.
George Eldredge was the big winner taking home 5 Golds in the Boys Mutli-Dicipline events (a big improvement on the 4 silvers and 1 gold he won in 2017), while other champions included triple winner Alesha Kelly (Girls 16 years 50m, 100m, and 200m Fly), Emily Ellis (Girls 17&Over 200m Back) and Isla Wallrock (Girls 15 years 100m Fly). Sloane (2x Bronze), Brandon (1 silver, 1 Bronze), Spencer (1 Silver), and Taylor (1 Bronze) were also all medal winners, while Isla (1 silver) added to her win in the 100m Fly.
Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed for Brompton, and a big thank you to Joanna and Ed who were on deck with me throughout the weekend to support the swimmers. The results for the competition can be found by clicking on the following link:
