After the first weekend of the London Swimming Regional Championships, Kingston Royals Swimming Club have accumulated three medals. This is a significant improvement from last year where the Club only achieved one medal throughout the entire Championships.
Luca Capezzuoli managed to win a silver medal in the 200 Fly to add to his Bronze medal in 100 Fly.
Not to be overshadowed Lucy Hawley put in a stunning backend swim to fly past a number of competitors in her 200 Butterfly to gain a Bronze medal.
Club Captain, Lucy, was also part of the relay teams which finshed 4th in the 4 x 100 Freestyle and 5th in the 4 x 200 Freestyle. The other members of this senior team were Lisa Boerner, Tegan Lessey and Melina Williams.
Kingston Royals also entered a 14-16 years female relays involving Mikayla McCall, Jasmine Humble, Havaani Blasi and Edith Davies which finished 13th in the 4 x 100 Freestyle and 8th in the 4 x 100 Medley Relay.
Well done to Edith Davies and Devesh Krishnan who made finals along with the other Regional Qualifiers.
We now turn our focus to the 11-15 year olds for the last two weekends of Regional racing over the weekends of 13th/14th and 19/20th May.
