Kindness is more important today than it has ever been.
Swim England have recognised the importance of the growth of the athlete, person and performer in order to create a great swimmer. This means not just thinking about performance in the pool but how our swimmers choose to behave outside of the pool too; how they interact with and support each other.
Whilst swimming can be seen as an individual sport, in Team Clevedon we encourage all of our swimmers to think about sportsmanship in and outside of the pool. We look for and encourage behaviours such as having respect for one another and being gracious in winning and losing.
We know that together we can achieve more than just one person alone, think about Team GB’s James Guy who stepped back from his individual races at the Tokyo Olympics to focus on the team relay meaning four people achieved gold not just one.
So, this week, let’s remember, one kind word leads to another. Kindness fuels kindness. We can all play a part in a chain reaction that powers positivity.
