COVID update 9 December 2021

Following the Prime Minister's announcement yesterday (8 December 2021), in which he gave notice of the move to Plan B including the guidance to 'work from home where you can' we outline our approach to making our training and events COVID secure.

Training

In terms of training, we will keep our COVID protocols as they are currently are; requesting everyone to wear a mask on entry and exit to the building, come ‘beach ready’ and to practice social distancing poolside.

From tomorrow (10 December) wearing a mask indoors becomes law again Face coverings: when to wear one, exemptions, and how to make your own - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) .

Club Champs Weekend

We’re confident our current protocols are in line with new restrictions. The event is a small one with (we estimate) around 150 people spread out across two days. As it’s being held before 15 December and under 500 people will attend, we are not required to ask for evidence of a vaccine passport. Coronavirus: how to stay safe and help prevent the spread - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

We will be strictly enforcing our 'no mixing' rule between spectators and swimmers throughout the day. We will also not allow any spectators into the building until our swimmers are safely poolside and in the water for warm up.

Please help us to make the event as secure as possible by following these rules and listening to our volunteers who are running the event.

If you're concerned about attending please do message your coach or reply to this email. If you or your swimmer has a positive COVID test between now and the weekend, please message Pat ([email protected]) and our COVID officer Verity ([email protected]).
