Round up of Surrey Championships 2022

The Surrey Age Group Championships took place across three weekends 5th/6th February (Surrey Sports Park), 19th/20th February (London Aquatics Centre) and 25th/26th February (Surrey Sports Park).

The events held at the Surrey Sports Park were a quiet affair compared to previous years as no spectators were permitted.  However, the London Aquatics Centre did allow spectators so parental cheering was in abundance, particularly for the relays.

Kingston swimmers managed to put in some great performances across all three weekends and came away with a total of 19 Gold, 11 Silver and 6 Bronze medals putting us 4th in the Men & Ladies Combined medal table.  A special mention should, of course, go to Harry Robinson who came away with a whopping 11 Gold medals and 2 Silver medals.  A full list of our medal winners and finalists is set out below:-

The following swimmers were also presented with trophies which are awarded to the fastest swimmers in either the Junior/Senior age group categories:-

  Trophy Name   Winner   Category
JC Lavender Trophy   Jack Robinson    Junior Boys 100m Freestyle
Kingston Royals Trophy   Pip Cinpoes   Junior Boys 200m Freestyle
Haslemere Trophy   Pip Cinpoes   Junior Boys 400m Freestyle
The Jim Sanderson Memorial Shield   Pip Cinpoes   Junior Boys 400m IM

Three Kingston swimmers, Molly Clark, Charlotte Long and Pip Cinpoes also achieved qualifying times for the British Championships which take place in Sheffield from 5th-10th April 2022.

Well done everyone, you did your club proud!
