Gala 1 of the East Midlands Regional Championships was held at Corby East Midland International Pool over the weekend of 23-24 April 2022.

This was for swimmers aged 11-13 years from across the East Midlands (Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire) that had achieved the necessary qualifying times.

We had 6 swimmers competing:

Megan, Islay-Mae, Kaeley - 50m Breaststroke

Lily, David - 50m, 100m and 200m Breaststroke

Fin - 50m, 100m and 200m Breaststroke, 50m, 100m and 200m Backstroke, 50m Freestyle

All swimmers achieved personal bests, and both Lily and Fin made finals.

Lily broke Club Records in each of her events, including one that had stood for 17 years (lowering it by 7 seconds!) and won Silver in the 200m Breaststroke!
