Team Boldmere scoops 35 medals during first County Champs weekend

Boldmere Swimming and Water Polo Club currently stands second with 16 gold medals won during the first weekend at the Warwickshire County Championships according to the unofficial medals table - and third overall in the medals tally.

Coaches and swimmers at Boldmere Swimming and Water Polo Club are celebrating a successful first weekend of racing at the 2023 Warwickshire County Championships. During the event, held at Alan Higgs Centre in Coventry on 21 and 22 January 2023, the team bagged a total of 16 gold medals (12 individual and 4 relay), and were only second to the City of Coventry in securing top podium positions. To conclude a great weekend of swimming, the club also had 47 other finalists or top 8 finishes, and 144 personal bests (PBs) set by our strong team of 67 swimmers.

Marc Foster, Head Coach for Boldmere Swimming and Water Polo Club, said: "We are delighted with the results achieved last weekend by our squads, but the successful performance of the club goes much further than just the medals table. The coaching team and I are thrilled with the improvement in technique and skill demonstrated by all swimmers during this first long course competition of the season. We now have ten days of intensive training in preparation for the second installment of the Counties, and I am confident we will be able to secure even better results then."
