"I have been involved with swimming for 30 years. 15 as a swimmer and 15 as a teacher & coach."

Why did you get into coaching?

Because he LOVES swimming. He feels it gave him so much and wanted to give back.

Background/List of achievements past and present:

Jon started teaching to help out his first club with their learn to swim. He took a break for 18 months when he moved to Glasgow for work, but upon returning took up a coaching roll back at the club, which progressed to becoming Head Coach.

Favourite Pool:

2 for Jon, Hengrove in Bristol and Ponds Forge in Sheffield

Greatest achievement in swimming/coaching:

2 Silver medals at the National Open Water Championships

Most important piece of advice to a swimmer:

"Enjoy the process and training as the discipline required to a swimmer will stay with you for life."
