18th October Update
Over the last 5 weeks, the chairs from Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead and Tring swimming Clubs in conjunction with Sian MacDonald have been reviewing the tender documents and assessing the potential impact to the swimming Clubs.
From this assessment the Clubs have a number of concerns and decided to write to each one of the councillors and our local MP outlining these.
The following open letter is the result of this assessment.
|Open Letter from Swimming Clubs to Councillors|
"Dacorum Borough Council is tendering it's
Leisure Management Services due to commence on 1 April 2018.
The contract period is for an inital 10 year period with an option to extend for a further five years.
The Leisure Management Services portfolio consists of six facilities (full details are given in the tender documents.)
As well as management of this service, the Council will require the Leisure services provider to deliver sports development and community outreach outcomes through a combination of activity programming and outreach work that involves working with users, local clubs, Dacorum Sports Network, Herts Sports Partnership, Public Health and key sporting bodies."
At present we are unsure what this means for the swimming club and how a potential new faclities provider will have an impact on the Club.
and when we get a clearer idea we will advise.
