CLUB RECORDS FALL after an outstanding Age Group County Champs

With ELEVEN club records falling across both weekends, the successful Age Group Champs reflected the wave of dedication and motivation from CWSC swimmers and staff - well done to all involved, the future is bright. You can see the updated club records on our website here https://uk.teamunify.com/RecordsSwim.jsp?_tabid_=103739&team=reczzcawsc

The camaraderie across the team shone brightly amongst the club relays with the 12 year old boys winning their events, and 12 year old girls claiming bronze despite two on the day drop outs. All teams dug deep and it was great to see the team spirit in and out of the pool. Amongst the numerous personal best times and final places, the coach nominated stand out swims were:

Madeline Bailey - Coming back from adversity, delivered a strong performance in the 50m Breaststroke final winning bronze in the 12 year old age group.

Veronica Venuti - Showed huge improvement in executing her turns in the 200 IM which won her a bronze medal in the 10/11 year age group (10 years old).

Victoria Bunimovich - dealing with a poor result in one of her favourite events. Came back with positive energy and delivered a fantastic swim in the 200 freestyle with a new personal best time.

Edward Whittles - 200 IM focussed on the break down of how each stroke should be raced and executed it, resulting in a win and 6 second personal best time.

Girls 12 years 4x50 freestyle relay - despite two swimmers withdrawing on the day, the team committed and stepped up for one another winning a bronze medal. Fantastic.

Thomasina Grove 50 fly - tweaked the way she swam the heat into a better delivery in the final which resulted in another personal best and win.

Matilda Littlemore 50 fly - superb underwater phases and excellent last ten metres putting her head down…finished 4th due to finish, but was excellent to see the fighting determination.

With the County Championships being so early in the season, they’ve been a great resource and discussion point between coaches and swimmers to identify skills that need working on for the rest of the season. A huge well done to swimmers in the Age and Youth Champs.
