It has proven to be a great Surrey County Swimming Championships for Croydon Amphibians’ young swimmers, with 11 medals won.
The championships, that ended last weekend, saw some outstanding swims from young Croydon swimmers, none more so than 11-year-old Zain Lam who won five gold medals over the course of the championships. His wins in 50m Breaststroke, 100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke, 50m Butterfly and 100m Butterfly were a great return for some superb swimming.
In addition, Ava Kelly took one gold (50m Breaststroke) and three silver medals (100m Breaststroke, 200m Breaststroke, 100m Backstroke); Luca Barretta earned a silver medal in 50m Freestyle; and Pippa Danielson earned a bronze medal in the 800m Freestyle.
Croydon Amphibians Head Coach Patryk Folinski said: “I am very pleased with the overall performances of our swimmers at the county swimming championships. In addition to the medals won, there were personal best performances from all our swimmers and I am very proud of each and every one of them. We now look forward to the regional and national swimming championships later in the season and I hope to see yet more outstanding performances from Croydon Amphibians.”
