Junior Water Polo Starting in Milton Keynes
Water polo is a fast-paced Olympic sport played by two teams in a swimming pool. The oldest team sport in the current Olympic programme! There are goals at each end of the pool and, like other sports such as football, the winner of the game is the team that scores the most goals. Each team has seven players in the water at any one time (six ‘out-field’ players and a goalkeeper), with “rolling substitutes” throughout the match. CMK Water Polo is a friendly water polo club that welcomes male and female players of all levels, from beginners to experienced players. However, there has been no provision for junior players…….until now! On Thursday 4 October, that will change when a junior session will start.
Players will learn new aquatic skills within the sport of Water Polo, whilst at the same time improving their stroke technique and swimming stamina. All boys and girls 12 years of age and older are invited to come and try out this sport, but must be able to swim a minimum of 100 metres and be confident in deep water. The junior session will run from 8:30-9:00 pm every Thursday at Stantonbury Campus Leisure Centre.
Coaching shall be led by several of our senior players who have many years of different experiences behind them. Girls should wear a one-piece costume and boys should wear trunks rather than shorts. Apart from a towel, all other equipment will be provided. For further details email firstname.lastname@example.org
