Success at Swim England Masters' Nationals
The last weekend of the half term break brings the Masters' Season to a close with the SE Masters National Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield. Seven Masters took part and the statistics speak for themselves:
Personal bests - 29 out of the 39 individual swims were PBs, many of which were lifetime bests.
Club records - 7 Club records were broken
Relays - 4 relays were swum and all were placed in the top 10, and the Mixed 4x200 160+ won silver.
Individual medals: 7 in total
Pip Williams in 100 IM and 50 back (55-59 age group)
Greg du Tertre in 100 breaststroke (25-29 age group) - a huge achievement in winning his first National level medal with a PB and from the difficult position of being at the top end of the age group.
Pip Williams in 100 breast and 50 free (in a lifetime best 29.65)
Pip Williams in 50 fly and 100 breaststroke.
As always the team spirit was very close (and very noisy!) - and WDSC are being noticed for all the right reasons.
A huge big thank you to coach David Gee (and Patrick Ahern) for pushing us hard in training and being there supporting us in Sheffield.
