Arena League Round 2 2018

The Stingrays battle bus took us to Peterbrough for the 2nd round of the National Arena League where we faced stiff competition from city teams such as City of Peterbrough A, City of Cambridge, Lincoln Vulcans and Norwich Swans.  Along with our local neighbours Melton Mowbray we did ourselves proud against these giants and a 4th place finish was where we expected to be.  The team remained largely unchanged from Round 1 but special thanks has to go to 14 year old Lottie Warsop who stepped up to swim the womens 200 IM, the first event of the evening, and to Will H who also stepped up for the Mens 100m breaststoke having just swam his age group event and after being out of training with an injury to his hand..  First place finishes were rare against such strong sides but once again we dominated the boys breaststroke with wins for James B, Elliot and Will H.  Our youngest boys James B, Jensen, Matt and Oliver also had some very close and exciting finishes in both their individual events and relay swims to  help maintain our position.  The Battle Bus once again had an eventful journey home which we hope won't be repeated for the final round on Saturday 8th December.  Venue and team to be confirmed.  Keep up the great work Stingrays!
