December 2018 Newsletter
“Have yourself a very Merry Christmas!”
Message from Head Coach
Even though the month of December is a short month with the holidays it was jammed full of competitions for FSC swimmers. The month began with the Guildford City Last Chance Qualifier followed by our own 800m County Qualifier time trials, then on to the final round of the National Arena League Gala the BBS Sprints and finishing with our very own 1500m County Qualifier time trials…….Phew!
At every one of these events FSC swimmers performed magnificently, to date 42 FSC swimmers have achieved County Qualifying times in a total of 179 individual swims! This is a very impressive showing with one more opportunity to add to this number at our FSC Last Chance Qualifier Sunday, January 6th.
Here’s wishing everyone at FSC a very merry Christmas and best wishes for a successful 2019.
Message From Chairman
Like every year, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you Happy Holidays, hoping you spend some well deserved time to do what you enjoy most, and spend time with your loved ones. Hope you have a great one and see you all in the New Year!
Message from Treasurer:
Thank you to everyone who has updated their fees for the new season and paid any difference that was due. One last polite plea to the few that haven’t: PLEASE update your standing order and email me to confirm on firstname.lastname@example.org so that we don’t have to keep chasing.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to Masters swimmers.
Bracknell is our next targeted meet - this is now open to entries and closed early last year and is a popular meet - there is a warm down pool and its local so we traditionally go for a Curry "Swim-down" afterwards. - Get your entries in as a target for losing that Christmas Excess !
Let me know if you wish to enter relays (You can just do relays if you don’t fancy individual events...) we were 7th overall last year as a club and scored well on relays.
