Poole Swimming Club Senior and Junior Short Course Records take a Tumble
The 2018 short course season led to no less than 16 Senior and Junior club Records being broken by 6 different athltetes. These from some outsanding performances that we can all be proud of.
Both the female and male Senior 50m Freestyle records fell, with Jacob P claiming the mens in 22.69 and Jasmine M the ladies in 25.79. Jacob P went on to claim a clean sweep of his own Butterfly records claiming a 23.08 for the 50m, 51.43 for the 100m and a 1.55.34 for the 200m.
Jasmine has set herself a 2019 challenge of earning the 50m Back record to claim the whole set of Senior sprint records for the ladies having taken the 50m Fly in 27.17 and 50m Breast in 33.36.
The second female Breast-stroke record fell to Izzy Hepburn who stormed to a 2.37.59 to take the 200m Breast-stroke Junior Record.
In middle distance freestyle Thea O'K already holder of the Senior 200m added the 400m Free in a time of 4.18.43 with a brilliantly paced race at the South West Championships.
Whilst Robbie H making his first mark on the Record Board became the youngest male Senior & Junior Record holder taking the 800m Free in 08:50.90.
AImie Q earned her first inprint on the records with an 18:21.83 to take the girls 1500m Free Junior Record.
Oliver Fairman smashed the previous 200m Back mark to take the Senior & Junior Record in 02:01.68 and showing his depth in swimming took the Junior 100m Breast in 01:07.85 and 200IM in 02:09.50.
