Thank you to Mat Tilley and the team at Legacy Leisure who have awarded a grant for £1,000 for the club to invest in much needed training equipment.
With a comprehensive wish list of requirements, we successfully bid for a quarterly grant to invest in purchasing 3 x swim metronomes, which encourage swimmers to Swim to the Beat – encouraging pacing skills.
Metronomes help swimmers to: explore their stroke, examine their breathing, maintain a constant pace, lengthen their stroke and swim faster.
We've also spent part of the award on 2 x backstroke ledges to assist training on backstroke starts – without slipping. Look out for these in training sessions soon.
We were also delighted to be awarded double the money of which we applied. This extra money has already been ring-fenced for a Level 2 Coaching course for Fiona - we wish her well in her studies. Thanks again to Legacy Leisure for their kind generosity.
