Age Group Development Clinic


Team Bath AS is pleased to announce an Age Group Development Clinic to be held at the University of Bath Sports Training Village on Sunday 24th February 2019.

The clinic is aimed at swimmers aged 10-14 who have a County Qualifying Time and are also members of the ASA.




The Itinerary for the Day will be as follows:

9.15am:                         Arrival and registration

9.30am:                         1 hour Nutrition Workshop for Swimmers and one Parent/Carer

11.00am-1pm:               2 hour Skills and Stroke Technique session in the 50m Legacy pool


The Age Group Development Clinic is aimed at 10 to 14 year old ASA registered competitive swimmers.


Nutrition Workshop

presented by Eva Piatrikova:

Good nutrition is a vital contributor to swimming performance. This workshop will provide both the swimmer and parent with a valuable insight in optimum nutrition with practical recommendation on how this can be applied in daily life.

Eva has a BSc Sport Performance Degree and a Masters in Applied Sports Nutrition and Physiology and is currently completing her PhD with ground breaking research on optimum training practices which she has already been utilised by our performance swimmers. She also an experienced competitive swimmer and triathlete.


Pool Skills and Stroke Technique Session

with Team Bath AS Lead Development Coach Liam Willcox:

This 2-hour session will take place in the Olympic size 50m pool at the University of Bath. The session will provide swimmers with the opportunity to improve stroke technique and enhance swimming skills with particular emphasis given to the importance of maintaining good body position in the water.

Liam is the Lead Development Coach with Team Bath AS and coaches at every level of the Team Bath AS program. As a Level 3 Swimming Coach he has worked with swimmers of all abilities from Learn to Swim through to National level, including Para athletes.

Liam’s career started at Norton Radstock Swimming Club and through his enthusiasm, personal development, volunteering and passion for swimming he has developed to become a well-respected, highly qualified coach. Liam’s coaching career has already taken him to some impressive places both at home and abroad – he was assistant Coach to the Somerset County Team (2016/2017), the Inter Regionals Team 2018, for the South West Disability Team at the British Swimming Para International and Rio Trials as well as coaching on Swim England’s Talent Development Camps. His previous employment includes 2 years coaching at Millfield School.

The Clinic costs £25 per swimmer. There are only 20 places available. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.



We also have a limit of 3 spaces for Level 1 or level 2 Swimming Coaches or Teachers to participate at a cost of £10 per place.
