Rushmoor Royals take on the South East Regionals

Rushmoor Royals returned from the recent Swim England South East Regional Championships with some extremely solid performances, improvements on ranking position and many personal best times.  To top it all there were medals for three of the swimmers with Ella H winning a silver medal in the Age 16 100m Breaststroke, Theo M gaining a bronze in the Age 11/12 400m Individual Medley and ‘queen of the final weekend’ Rosie R winning two silver medals in the 100m and 200m Age 13 Breaststroke events.

In the 15 and over events Ella also made the final in the other Breaststroke events at 50m/200m.  Charlie H came very close to a medal in a number of events with two fourth places in the 200 IM and Backstroke events as well as making the final of the 50 Back and 200 Butterfly events.  Elsewhere in the fly events Mia S made it to the 50m final and Jess C did the same as well as in the 100m event.  The breaststroke events also saw a number of Royals finalists with Liv P in the 100, Beth S in the 200 and the Zack’s K & W went head to head in their 200 event.  For the distance events that did not have finals there were top 8 places for Tash H in the 800 and 1500 Freestyle events, Andrew H in the 1500m and Charlie also went in the 400 medley.

The younger 14 and under swimmers then had their events in Crawley across two weekends with Rosie also making the final in the 50 and 100 Freestyle events as well as the 50m Breaststroke events.  Theo also reached the final of the 50 Backstroke and 200 Freestyle before having to sit out the second weekend due to injury.  In addition, Harry S reached the final of the 50 Breaststroke, Madison J the 50 Freestyle, Paige A-B the 100 Backstroke and Ella S in the 200 Backstroke events.  Finally, the younger age group distance events saw Theo, Ruby S and Karys K made the top 8 in the 1500m Freestyle.

8 days of tough competition for the best swimmers in the South East region and some impressive results from not only the swimmers described already but also the rest of the 33 Rushmoor Royals swimmers that qualified for the events.
