Clevedon and Chard and Team Bath all in one weekend



It was another busy weekend for the Kingfishers with swimmers competing at Hutton Moor, in the Clevedon and Chard Open Meet, and at Hengrove, in the Team Bath Pre National Meet.

In the Clevedon and Chard Meet there were 16 new best times (PB), 27 top ten finishes and five top three finishes for the twelve swimmers. 

Charlie Halford won gold in the 50m Breaststroke ahead of Finley Halford , Oliver Hurst and Jemima Seagrove who made the top ten.  Grace Hurst was second in the 100m Breaststroke and C. and H. Halford both finished third.  G. Hurst followed this with a bronze in the 200m Breaststroke. In the 50 m Freestyle Simon Toogood was fifth and Josh Easton and Jemima Seagrove sixth, ahead of Sam Easton, G. Hurst, Lucy Todd, and Jay Tallon .  There were more strong swims by the Kingfishers in the 100 m Freestyle in which S. Easton, C. and F. Halford, and J. Seagrove all finished in the top ten; J. Seagrove and S. Easton followed this with another top ten placing in the 200 m Freestyle. Lucy Todd had a strong swim in the 50m Butterfly to finish in fifth place, with teammates J. and S. Easton, G. Hurst, and S. Toogood all making the top ten. Sam Easton had another good swim, just squeezed out of the medals to come fourth in the 100m Butterfly. There were more top ten places for Seagrove in the 50 m and 100 m Backstroke and for S. Easton in 100 m Backstroke. Grace Hurst finished the weekend with another top ten finish in the 200 m Individual Medley.

Meanwhile, at the Team Bath Pre National Meet Megan McClumpha and Olivia Iles were enjoying a successful weekend with both girls reaching the final of the 50 m Backstroke. In the 50 m Freestyle Iles set a new PB and McClumpha finished eighth, McClumpha improved by 3 seconds in the 100 m Freestyle.
