Lead Squad Coach

   London Borough of Hounslow Swimming Club (LBHSC) is looking for an experienced Level 2 qualified 
   coach for our age group, county, national level swimmers.   This role is based at the Isleworth Leisure
   This is a part time role and permanent contract (circa 18 hours per week including morning training)

   Qualifications and Experience Required
   As a minimum the successful candidate must have obtained an ASA/UKCC Level 2 Certificate for
   Coaching Swimming.
   Main Duties:
  • Plan and deliver appropriate training sessions for your designated squads.
  • Prepare and publish to squad members an annual coaching plan based around the relevant competition cycle for your squads.
  • Provide a committed and professional approach towards coaching and supporting all swimmers to reach their full potential.
  • Set and monitor individual squad members’ performance targets.
  • Perform twice yearly one to one meetings (as a minimum) with squad members and their parent(s)/guardian(s).
  • Follow Health and Safety Procedures and the Swim England Child Protection Policy and Wave Power. Be aware and understand the facility Emergency Action Plan (EAP) and Normal Operating Procedures (NOP).
  • In conjunction with the Club Meet Manager provide relevant meet information to your squad members, recommend events for entry and review all event entries for all squad members.
  • In conjunction with other coaches, ensure that suitable ability teams are selected for all Club competitions.
  • Attend all competitions allocated for your squad.
  • Maintain CPD and gain further qualifications in line with Swim Mark requirements.
  • Attend regular Coaches meetings as required.
  • Support maintenance of the Club’s Swim Mark status.
  • Ensure that all squad lists are maintained accurately through the means of registers. These registers are to be recorded electronically and attendance records to be provided to the Membership Secretary on a weekly basis.
  • To work with local stakeholders and Swim England regional staff to maximise the opportunities to positively promote the Swim England swimming programme to the wider regional community.
  • Ensure your squad has adequate communication on session changes and any cancellations as necessary. Establish communication channels appropriate for your squad by means of email and text.  Provide the Website / Communications Manager information pertinent to your squad members to share via the website and social media.
  • Respond to general enquires and  emails from Squad members / parents in a timely manner.
  • To undertake any other duties which may be assigned from time to time and that are commensurate with the grade of the post.
  • To undertake the accountabilities of the post in accordance with the Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policies in line with the clubs own protocol, policies and procedures.
