25 August 2019
As we are sure you are aware, the training timetable needs to be revisited each season to consider the number of members that we have, along with their ever-changing training ability.
For the 2019-20 season, in order to utilise pool space more effectively, we have had to make a few adjustments to the timetable from last season. Leading up to the summer break, we looked to see whether it would be advantageous to make any changes. Having been through numerous different versions of this timetable update over the last couple of months, we are now in a position to release the timetable. The majority of the changes are at the Bury / Culford end, with only a few minor changes at Haverhill and will come into effect from the first day back - Tuesday 27th August. Click on the below links for the timetables for each relevant centre. These changes will also be available on the club website, under: Squads > Squad Timetables in the next 24 hours.
From the Development squad and up, the expectation is for swimmers to be on poolside up to 15 minutes prior to the start of their pool session, in order for them to carry out a thorough land warm up - which is vital for the swimmers to enable them to perform their best in the pool. There will also be time after the sessions for those swimmers to stretch out to aid recovery.
As in previous years, all changes will be reviewed after the first month to see if any additional changes need to be made.
For the first four days back, only the evening sessions on the new timetables will take place. There will be no morning sessions from Tuesday 27th August to Friday 30th August at any site. The weekend and week commencing Monday 2nd September will be as per the normal timetable.
Please also be aware that the Tuesday 27th August and Wednesday 28th August evening sessions at Culford will start 1 hour later than advertised on the timetable, with a 5:00pm start time for the Competitive squads. Skills 2 on Tuesday evening will then run from 6:30 - 7:30pm on Tuesday 27th only.
We hope that you have all enjoyed the summer break and are looking forward to the new season and the challenges that lay ahead.
