Team Clevedon wins big at Somerset ASA Development Meet

Clevedon Swimming Club put on a fantastic performance at this weekend’s Somerset ASA Development Gala, held in the Millfield swimming pool, winning the meet overall.

Swimmers from all over the county were invited to attend the meet to help them gain county qualifying times for the upcoming Somerset County Championships in January 2020.

Clevedon fielded a team of 61 swimmers to compete against 14 clubs from around Somerset including Bath University, Taunton Deane and Weston Super Mare.

Pat Leaman, Head Coach commented;

“Our swimmers are amazing. The Somerset Development meet enabled our swimmers to achieved 186 personal bests, 19 county qualifying times, 20 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 28 bronze medals.”

Swimmers from across all club squads were in attendance at the weekend; improvers, development, junior skills, junior competition, senior competition, senior skills and performance.

Team Clevedon is also proud to be able to field a strong team of volunteer officials and young volunteers who supported Somerset ASA to be able to run the meet. Thanks especially to our older swimmers Eva Farmery, Giselle Fitton, Erica Godfrey, Toby Foster and Max Streeter who gave up their time to support the younger swimmers.
