Cheddar Kingfishers make a strong start to the new season

Nine swimmers from Cheddar Kingfishers have come back from the summer holidays refreshed and determined to do well again this year. They took part in the Somerset ASA Development Meet at Millfield School over the weekend of 5th and 6th October, gaining 14 personal bests, with 4 swimmers achieving County Times.

This meet, aimed at developing swimmers, was well attended by Cheddar Kingfishers. Grace Cadwallader had a great swim in the 50m back, Sam and Josh Hutchinson swimming 50m free, Cassidy Iles swimming 50m free and 50m breast, they all swam strong and achieved well deserved personal bests. A strong performance from Jemima Seagrove saw 2 personal bests in the 200m free and 50m fly, for which she also swam a qualifying County Time for. Lois Brimm swam an amazing 4 personal bests in 50m back, 50m fly, 200m free and 50m free, achieving County Qualifying times for 50m fly and 50m free. Charlie and Finley Halford both swam personal bests, Charlie in 100m IM gaining a bronze medal, Finley in 100m breast and a County Time also. Harry Read also PB'd knocking off an amazing 8 seconds from his time and achieving a County Time in the 100m breast.

Cheddar Kingfishers next meet will be at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, swimming at the Weston Super Mare Halloween Meet.
