Staines Swimming Club
are delighted to launch our
New Masters Training Programme
What does this mean:
Staines Swimming Club is delighted to launch its new Masters training programme. The club would like to offer more skilled coaching and training to help develop and grow our Masters swimmers. The new programme offers more choice of sessions which will take place morning and evenings. We will be using the clubs senior coaches and sessions will also be available with our Head Coach, Marcin. Marcin ran a successful Masters programme at Enfield Swimming Club which had over 80 swimmers; many who competed at British and European National Championships.
We welcome swimmers of all ranges in skill and ability, those who wish to compete and the who wish to swim for fun. By growing our masters programme we can develop a strong community of swimmers who can enjoy swimming with like minded people.
The club understands that each of you will have different goals and expectations, which is why we would like to invite all our current Masters swimmers to our launch evening next Thursday evening where you can meet the coaches and discuss your personal requirements and learn more about the programme.

What competitions can I enter?
There is no shortage of chances to get your competitive juices flowing with Masters swimming competitions at local, national and international level.
Majority of Masters club meets include 50m and 100m races in all strokes, as well as relays. Meanwhile, larger competitions may include longer races over distances such as 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m.
If you’re not confident in your fitness or ability, don’t be put off from competing. Most Masters swimming competitions don’t impose a qualifying standard.
Nearly all Masters races are seeded so people swim against those with a similar entry time. Results are ranked in five-year age groups, so you will be aiming to go faster than your contemporaries.
The Head Coach will review competitions available to Masters swimmers and discuss their opportunities. More information on competitions can be found on the Swim England Website:
What if I don't want to compete?
Of course many of you are part of the masters swim programme because you enjoy swimming and structured training provided but do not want to compete...this is totally fine! Please don't be intimidated by the new programme, it is not meant to be. We want you have more opportunities to swim and also build and grow a community of Masters swimmers at Staines Swimming Club.
The club is excited to launch this new programme and will be actively looking to recruit new swimmers and grow our Masters programme. We hope you are as excited as we are and we look forward to meeting many of you.
We would like to invite all our current Masters swimmers, and anyone interested in joining, to a launch night on Thursday 7th November at Spelthorne Leisure Centre. You will have an opportunity to meet all the coaches and the Head Coach and discuss any questions you may have about the new programme. You can find all the information you need on our website in the Masters section of our Squad tab. Please also see attached invitation for more details on the launch.
