West Dorset L3 Open Meet

West Dorset Level 3 Open Meet December 2019

Last week, over 100 swimmers from Poole attended the West Dorset Level 3 meet, held in Dorchester on December 7th and 8th.

There were two gruelling days of hard, heavy performances from everyone who swam.
With over 150 medals won across the 5 sessions, the meet brought with it many PBs. New styles of racing, which swimmers and coaches have been working on, were put into practice in competition and we were joined by new swimmers from the Talbot Heath Academy link.
Coach Chris commented that these swimmers had never competed before with PSC and have come away "training harder than ever after enjoying the company and team spirit which PSC had to offer".

A special mention goes to Chris B, who achieved Top Boy, storming his way through with 10+ medals, many of which were gold.

**CLUB RECORD ALERT**
Tilly M also managed to secure a new club record in the 200 fly!
Coach Chris remarked:
"A fantastic swim, I have never seen someone swim fly so relaxed yet so fast! She made it look easy. Despite the challenges a 200fly brings, Tilly managed within the event to swim a PB in the 50m 100m AND the 200m to smash her old PB to gain a new Club record".

Congratulations to all our swimmers. Huge thanks must also go to the coaches, Chris, and Meghan, supported by coaches and team managers Marilyn, Mike, Jacob D and Geri. And last but not least, thanks to Sean and Phil O’C who were helping West Dorset in the office with the timings. We, as a club, are grateful to all of you for ensuring our young athletes had a fun, yet progressive performance in this, our last competition before Dorset Counties in one month's time.
