After chancing upon an article on Twitter about it, Noah Findell put his name into the hat to enter a once in a lifetime opportunity to compete in a ‘Sprint with the Stars’ fundraising event for TeamGB swimmers ahead of Olympic year, organised by Macclesfield Satellites Swimming Club in September.
The event saw swimmers in each age group and for each gender competing to qualify to be in the first seven positions who would then progress through to the finals to race against a TeamGB star swimmer over 50m in each stroke (younger swimmers were given a head start).
Noah qualified for the finals of both the back and free races, but sadly felt unwell later in the day and wasn’t able to compete in the fly and breast events, thereby missing out on the chance to race James Guy and Adam Peaty. However, he did give World Gold Medallist Luke Greenbank (in backstroke) a run for his money in the final and also met the new Queen of British swimming and a potential star of the Tokyo Olympics this year, Freya Anderson.
Well done Noah! What an amazing experience!
