Coronavirus Delay Phase

Poole Swimming Club Advice on Coronavirus ( Covid  19)

As of today the UK government has announced we have entered the’ DELAY ‘ phase of its plan to tackle Coronavirus.

Poole Swimming Club is currently following the latest guidance from Government and Public Health England as advised by Swim England.

At this time it is deemed safe to swim by The Pool Water Treatment and Advisory Group(PWTAG).A spokesperson for this group states ‘Water and the chlorine within swimming pools will help kill the virus.

However PSC strongly advise on the following –

Any swimmer, coach or volunteer, parent/carer who experience any symptoms of coronavirus infection however mild, please do not attend any training sessions or competitions. Let your coach know if you have symptoms/suspected or confirmed coronavirus.

All swimmers must shower prior to and after your training session.

Do not share drinks, food or sweets.

We strongly recommend swimmers who leave training kit at any of the pools take their kit home after every session.

Do not lend snorkels or goggles to fellow swimmers at this time.

Swimmers, coaches, volunteers, parents and carers, on entering and leaving pool venues please wash your hands.

If you become ill during a training session, tell your coach, get changed as soon as you can. Keep a 2 meter distance away from other swimmers and the coach. If you are able to let the coach know which cubicle you used or which part of the changing room you used.  You will need to be taken home by a family member, do not accept lifts from other parents or swimmers.

All our training venues are business as usual at this time as is PSC. However due to the nature of this virus dynamic decisions will be made as and when advice and guidance changes.

We will update you with any changes we are advised to make.
