As training resumes at our home pool of Strode, albeit in quite a different way to before lockdown, we've been taking the time we've had outside of the pool to review our club purpose and values. Our purpose and values tell everyone about us; why we exist, what we do and how we expect all of our swimmers, coaches and volunteers to behave when they are part of the club.
Pat has been working with British Swimming's toolkit to develop our new look training programmes and as part of this has been using their new Optimal Athlete Development Framework (OADF).
The OADF sets out to describe the characteristics that British Swimming believe swimmers need to possess in order to be successful - both in and out of the pool. The framework encompasses the person, the performer and the athlete. We will be using this going forward to help us support all of our swimmers to achieve their goals.
