There have been some queries regarding the travel/attendance from different Coronavirus Tier areas for training.
The short answer is swimmers  may  travel to or train in an area that has a different COVID tier to their own, unless they come from or the training is in a tier 3 area Swim England website FAQ's can be found here:  and specific travel advice can be found below.

This depends on the area's coronavirus alert level.

People may travel into any tier area if it is necessary to enable disability sport, sport for educational purposes, or supervised sport and physical activity for under-18s to take place. This would cover club sessions (for under 18s) and learn to swim sessions (for under 18s).

People in tier 1 and 2 should not travel into very high (tier 3) areas “to take part in physical activity”, e.g for a casual swim, unless it is necessary to enable individual exercise or to exercise for people from the same household or support bubble.

Similarly, people living in tier 3 areas should not travel into tier 1 or 2 areas for a casual swim unless it is necessary to enable individual exercise or to exercise for people from the same household or support bubble.

A reminder about the WSSC COVID rules:
The role of the COVID liaison is to ensure WSSC training is compliant with risk assessment & Swim England guidance.
It is in the interest of everyone to follow the guidance set out if we are to keep swimming.
  • Wearing masks before entering the Centres (ACL Bury/Haverhill and Culford), around poolside when possible and after training - when queuing to leave the pool.
  • Hand sanitizing at the entrance and before leaving the pool area.
  • Temperature checks must be carried out on all swimmers and COVID Liaison officers. If a temperature reads LO or HI, then repeat temperature check after 2 minutes. A temperature reading  must be  obtained before poolside entry. Swimmers may only train if a satisfactory temperature check has been completed.
  • Maintain social distancing at all times.
Level X sessions; the names of everyone poolside, including the COVID Liaison officer(s), must be recorded on the attendance sheets, for track and trace purposes, and a satisfactory temperature reading must be obtained before entry to poolside.
Masks must be worn by all helpers/time keepers on poolside. All other COVID rules also apply.
It is imperative that we abide by these rules to ensure the safety of our swimmers/coaches/helpers, and to be able to continue swimming.
Thank you for your continued help and support.
