SASAYoung VOLunteer programme

Please see below information about the Somerset ASA Young Volunteer programme from Kelly Podbury

I am really pleased to be able to launch this year's Swim England South West Programme for Somerset ASA.

It is aimed at 15 to 25-year-old volunteers from clubs (aged 15 in school year).

It will run from October 2018 until the end of July 2019, with 25 hours of volunteering to be completed by end of July 2019.

The deadline for applications is Sunday 30th September 2018.

Young volunteers have benefited greatly from their experiences and mentoring. Past Programmes have given wider recognition of our Young Volunteers' achievements and seen a boost to CV's for young people embarking on future careers.

Our County Programme will include:

·         Overview and briefing on the annual programme and the content (21st October)

·         Young Aquatic Helpers Course (21st October)

·         Timekeepers / Judge 1 Officials course (March/April 2019)

We are also considering the:

·         Young Aquatic Leaders Course (date & venue to be confirmed)

Opportunities
Sought after volunteering / development opportunities will be offered by Clubs, Counties and the Region at galas and open Meets as well as County and Regional events.

All workshops to be completed by the end of July 2019.

The end of the programme will culminate in a Regional Celebration event – held in September 2019.
