On Saturday 19th January, Caradon Swimming Club held its own Master’s Competition for the 4th year which saw entries from 21 clubs from all over the country.
Caradon entered 7 Masters swimmers; Vicki Buck, Mick Swift, Maria Szuplewski, Susan and David Smith, Samantha Crosby and Jenson Cory, with ages ranging from 18 to 69.
The competition was a great success which saw the team taking an impressive haul of 24 medals in their respective age groups and overall winning top club.

In addition to medals:
Mick Swift set two new Cornwall County records in the 400 and the 200 Freestyle 65-69 age group. A very fitting way for Mick to finish his swimming career. Mick is retiring from competive swimming at the end of January and we wish him all the very best for the future.
Jenson Cory was also in fine form getting into the County record books. Jenson, competing in his 1st Masters competition set a new county record in the 18-24 age group in the 100 Breaststroke.
Caradon Masters are all to be congratulated for their hard work and commitment.
The Masters will back in action in the Welsh National Pool in Swansea on the 2nd - 3rd March when they compete in the Swim Wales Open Masters and Seniors 2019.
