Cheddar Kingfishers Swimming Club        Cotswold League Round Four


Cheddar Kingfishers had another tough round when they hosted teams from Bath Dolphins, Brockworth and Clevedon in the Cotswold League at Cheddar Swimming Pool on 30 March. Despite strong competition from the other teams, the Cheddar swimmers took seven first and fifteen second place finishes.

There were first place finishes for Jeff Hill in the 100m Butterfly, Patrick Forrester in the Fifteen and under 50m Breaststroke, Olivia Iles in the thirteen and under 50m Butterfly, Megan McClumpha in the fifteen and under 50m Freestyle and Grace Hurst in the 25m Breaststroke.  The girls eleven and under Freestyle relay team of Hurst, Hulah, Lois Brimm and Jemima Seagrove won their race as did the fifteen and under Freestyle team of McClumpha, Maggie Hammond, Stella Arnold and Sophie Warren, in a new club record time.

Harry Read and Millie Warren were second in the Individual Medley, Matilda Hullah was second in the 25m Freestyle and Holly Cockram in the thirteen and under Breaststroke. Lois Brimm was second in the 25m Butterfly and Jack Brimm in the 50m Freestyle. Stella Arnold was second in the 50m Freestyle and Jemima Seagrove on the 25m Backstroke. The eleven years and under Medley relay teams of Seagrove, Hurst, Brimm and Hulah and Ewan McClumpha, Charlie Halford, Sam Hutchinson and George Young finished in second as did the girls thirteen and under Freestyle team of Arnold, Lucy Todd, Cockram and Iles. The boys fifteen and under Medley relay team of Patrick Forrester, Finley Halford, Sergio Wadey and Read were just pushed into second place as were the open boys Medley team of Brad Linklater, Callum Pitt, Hill and Simon Toogood. In the open Freestyle relay Pitt, Toogood, Hall and Hill also had to settle for second. 

The entire team worked hard with strong swims from Lucy Slingsby, Anna Wadey, Josie Morgan, Ed Hardman all contributing to the points total.
