Mental Health Awareness Week

We're thinking about Mental Health Awareness Week today - with some thoughts from our Head Coach, Pat.

The confidence of a swimmer is one of the biggest contributors to success in the pool. When a swimmer is confident, they trust their abilities, focus on the right things, have positive body language, and are more willing to face challenges head on. 

The power of confidence is not to be underestimated. But for a lot of swimmers, its just not that simple. When confidence dips, attitude dives and swimmers can feel less sure about their skills and abilities, doubt themselves and even start to over think things. 

Confidence is something that has be developed and nurtured. It’s a skill. And like any skill it requires attention and constant development.

If only our swimmers believed in their capabilities as much as their coaches do!
