On Saturday the younger swimmers were in action at the Bishops Stortford, End of Season, Long Course meet in the 50m pool at the Luton Inspire complex. Tamsin Moren started the meet with bronze in her first long course (LC) 200m Individual Medley posting 2:46.35. On the way she set a new LC 50m fly best of 35.33. She also picked up silver in the 100m Breast (1:25.20) and bronze (39.36) in the 50m free as well as setting a new pb by over 2 seconds in her 50m Free (31.26).
Issy Whitaker, in her first ever LC meet clocked an all course best (38.20) in the 50m Back, as did Mia Maslen-Wollington who clocked 39.11.
Both girls also went to head to head in the 50m Breast with Issy coming out on top by just 1/100th of a second in 46.43 to 46.44.
Mia then finished her events with another all course best time of 1:17.24 in the 100m Free.
In the second session Eva Lawson’s domination of the club records recommenced in the 200m Free where she took gold in 2:26.27 which was, in itself quicker than her 25m pool time as well. Eva followed up with bronze in the 100m Breast (1:36.23), gold in the 50 Free, closing on going sub 30 with 30.88, another club record and, converted, faster than her Short Course (SC) time. Her 50m fly pocketed bronze (36.20) and her 100m back, 1:17.87, was a converted pb over her SC time and yet another club best time.
Vicky Ayles improved her LC 200m Free best by nearly 5 seconds, coming down to 2:34.94, swam a converted pb in the 50m Free with 33.06 and finished with a first LC swim in the 100m Back with 1:25.23.
Finally, Dan Chennells started hard in his 200m IM posting a LC 50m fly pb of 30.61 at the end of the first leg and claiming bronze at the end in 2:32.07, also picking up a brace of 4th places in the 50m Back & 100m Free.
