Sunday 2nd August saw four intrepid masters’ swimmers travelling up the M1 to the Rother Valley Country Park to race in the ASA National Masters Open Water Championships. The race took place in a lake surrounded by beautiful countryside. The water was a cool 18 degrees with an air temp of around 17 degrees and a stiff breeze. But nothing could deter the steely Swiss Masters who all swam into medal winning positions, with Golds for Jess Thorpe (30-34yrs 1.5k 21.59.13) and Nuala Muir-Cochrane (50-54yrs 3k Gold 45.31.50), Silver for Chris Hopton (40-44yrs 3k Silver 42.53.70) and Bronze for Pete Jaggs (55-59yrs 3k Bronze 50.24.80)
Well done Masters representing Swiss Cottage SC at Nationals once again.
